After seeing his Wife endure many years of fruatration suffering from hot flashes and night sweats, a retired aircraft engineer residing in Florida USA set out to experiment to see if he could design something to help reduce this suffering.

As an engineer he knew about the theory that certain metals such as gold, which he had heard had the ability to put energy into the body, and silver which he heard had the power to remove energy. He knew that many people wear a gold and copper braclet for arthritis and had been told that these bracelets produced excellent results in the relief of pain for rumatic and arthritic conditions.

Further research also lead him to believe that magnetic forces can have a beneficial effect in the relief of bodily aches and pains.

Research was also conducted into the ancient science of reflexology which may also be a possible source of help, where it is beleived that by stimulating certain areas of the bodies refelex system these stimulations can possibly effect other parts of the body. After further investigation and experimentation that by stimulating the ends of the little finger with certain materials that there was a positive reaction in the reduction of the effects of Hot Flashes.

Another area of research was the ancient Chinese practice of acupuncture which is regularly used in modern clinical practice for the treatment of pain relief.

A further area of research was the ancient practice of "Yin and Yang" where it is beleived that  "Chi" circulates in the body along twelve major energy pathways called meridians. Each one is linked to a specific organ and bodily electrical system. According to ancient oriental Yin-Yang theory, it is believed that one has achieved the state of Chi (bio-energy) when your body's negative (Yin) and positive (Yang) energies are in balance. Chi, according to tradition, has been described as the natural vital force that allows body and mind to perform to its fullest potential.

The areas of research was therefore concentrated in to combinations of all of the possible positive things he now thought may be of help. These were :-

1. gold
2. silver
3. acupuncture
4. reflexology
5. magnetism

Many test were conducted using variations of materials, structures, and methods of delivery. 

After experimenting with these combinations and many months of testing his theory with the assistance of his wife, he eventually found what he believed to be the correct formulation and combination of metalic materials to produce the first prototype Flash-eez. A simple method of manufacturing the early prototypes was set up in his garage, this enabled him to test various methods of production reasonably quickly. After some time, and a few more modifications to the production methods he managed to produce a robust product.

During this period he set about beta testing his new prototype product by giving them to his wifes friends. He received many testimonials from most of his Beta test group who reported positive and fast results for the relief of hot flashes and night sweats when using the product in the recommended manner. From the negative results he discovered that some of the beta test group had not been using the the product correctly, and others had not tried the product for long enough periods or at the wrong time, when they had no symptoms, to establish any meaningful results.

The product was given to a few medical practitioners who were known to be interested in this area of practice. The Flash-Eez was given to selected patients by the Doctors as a non-clinical test. The results were positive in 75% of the test groups.

The product, now known as "Flash-Eez" is designed to relieve sufferers from the stress and distress caused by hot flushes, was put in to a small production run, and marketing tests were ongoing at the time of writing this article.
